First thing to check for ’disappearing’ AirPorts and Time Capsules in AirPort Utility...since some things that are supposed to be ’Automatic’ in High Sierra are not quite automatic for some users.

On your Mac...

Airport Time Capsule Mac Backup
Open System Preferences (gear icon on the dock)
Open Network
Click on WiFi on the left panel to highlight it
Click Advanced at the lower right of the windowAirport Time Capsule Mac Address Filtering
Click the TCP/IP tab near the top of the window
Make sure that the setting for Configure IPv6 is set to Link Local Only Icc for mac.
Click OK
Click Apply at the lower right of the next window (this is an easy step to miss, but it is important not to)

Now you are back at the main Network window again

Click on Ethernet to highlight it (even if you are not using this connection with with your Mac)
Click Advanced at the lower right of the window
Click the TCP/IP tab near the top of the window
Make sure that the setting for Configure IPv6 is set to Link Local Only
Click OK
Click Apply at the lower right of the next window (this is an easy step to miss, but it is important not to)

Close the Network window on your Mac
Power off the Time Capsule, wait a few seconds, then power it back up
Restart your Mac

Check to see if the Time Capsule now appears in AirPort Utility

If it does, I would recommend that you change the Internet / Internet Options IPv6 settings on the Time Capsule to Link Local Only as well. Post back if you decide to apply the new settings, and are not sure how to do this.
